Why this matters

The campaign story

Aphid are an independent four-piece from Carlisle, working towards their debut album. Recording a full album properly means more than a few days in a studio: it also means mixing, mastering, artwork, manufacture and the practical costs of bringing the record to release. The £8,000 already committed has come from the band themselves—each member has taken jobs to support their dream of making this record, while continuing to write, rehearse and play gigs—together with support from their families. Through their own work and family backing, they have already put the first half of the £16,000 target in place. Public support joins an effort already well underway and helps them complete the album. Supporters can make a quick contribution and receive an Aphid thank-you, or choose one of three simple packages for private pre-recording updates, the recording-trip diary, early listening access and—at £150 or more—an exclusive album-release T-shirt and supporter credit. Aphid remains an independent band. Support does not provide ownership, royalties, interest or repayment rights. Payments are taken securely by Stripe and help the project whether or not the full target is reached.
